Takuya Fujisawa – Skumitate (AEMIA Original Score)
Through the convergence of wooden materials, music, and dance, the goal is to establish a cultural and artistic bridge. Fujisawa, drawing inspiration from his diverse background, explores the essence of humanity and our capacity to connect beyond linguistic boundaries through dance. Skumitate plays a pivotal role in a site-specific research initiative in collaboration with STHLM DANS and Östasiatiska museet. Featured alongside the Juxtaposing Craft exhibition, the performance underscores the amalgamation of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary innovation in Japan and the Nordic regions. AEMIA has undertaken the task of crafting the entire score for this hour-long spectacle, a dynamic composition slated for release on digital platforms in 2025. The project materialized in a live performance at Östasiatiska museet in Stockholm in May 2023.
